A Legendary Design
Live Oak Golf Club (formerly Diamondback National Golf Club) opened on November 1, 1999, and was designed and built by 1971 Masters Champion Charles Coody. The layout seamlessly blends into the rolling terrain of Abilene, Texas, presenting a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Designed with wide fairways, meticulously placed bunkers, as well as crossing Lytle Creek numerous times, the course tests precision without sacrificing playability.
The Layout
The 18-hole course spans a diverse landscape with elevation changes, mature oak trees, and pristine greens. Each hole is uniquely crafted, offering a variety of risk-reward opportunities, from long par-5s to challenging par-3s. Water hazards and strategically placed bunkers add complexity, rewarding accuracy off the tee and precision around the greens. Whether you're a scratch golfer or a weekend warrior, the layout guarantees an engaging and enjoyable round.
