Renaming to Live Oak Golf Club with Exciting New Changes Ahead
ABILENE, Texas – September 17, 2024* — Thompson Golf Group (TGG) proudly announces the acquisition of Diamondback National Golf Club, effective today. The club, which has been a beloved part of the Abilene golf community, will undergo significant improvements, including a new name — Live Oak Golf Club.
Thompson Golf Group, known for its high-quality golf courses across Arizona and Minnesota, is excited to bring its expertise and commitment to excellence to Abilene. With a portfolio that includes premier courses such as Dove Valley Ranch, Power Ranch, Longbow Golf Club in Arizona, and Geneva Golf Club in Minnesota, TGG provides exceptional golfing experiences, combining beautifully maintained courses with outstanding customer service.
Exciting Changes Coming to Live Oak Golf Club:
- New Bridges: In anticipation of the purchase, TGG has already ordered three new bridges for the course. Installation is scheduled to begin in late October 2024.
- New Website and Online Tee Times: A brand-new website, liveoakgolfclub.com, will launch soon, featuring online tee time availability and up-to-date course information.
- Rebranding Efforts: The renaming to Live Oak Golf Club will be accompanied by new scorecards, golf flags, and various on-course items. The golf shop will welcome fresh merchandise from new vendors by mid-November.
- Remodel of Food and Beverage Area: A remodel of the clubhouse’s food and beverage area is slated to begin in mid-December, promising an enhanced experience for members and guests.
- New Pass Programs and Loyalty Program: Exciting new pass programs and a loyalty program will be announced by the end of the year, providing even more value to our golfers.
- New Golf Cart Fleet: A new Yamaha golf cart fleet is scheduled for delivery in March 2025.
Live Oak Golf Club will also continue to honor the legacy of Charles Coody, the original owner and renowned Masters champion, who dedicated years to maintaining and enhancing the quality of the course.
